Coach Jake's passion for baseball began as a player and continues today through coaching the next generation of athletes. Having played baseball through high school, college, and the Dairyland League, he understands firsthand the impact the game can have on a person's life. When his children were old enough to play, he traded in his cleats for a coaching role, committed to helping young players create the same lifelong memories and love for the game that shaped his own journey.

As a coach, Jake believes baseball is about more than wins and losses. He emphasizes having fun, building strong teammates, and understanding that success is achieved together. His philosophy is simple: "We win together, we lose together, and no matter what, we always support each other."

One of the most valuable lessons Coach Jake hopes every player takes away from ONYB is the mindset of "So what. Next pitch." Baseball—and life—are full of mistakes and challenges. What defines a player isn't the mistake itself, but how they respond, learn from it, and confidently move forward to the next opportunity.

Coach Jake is dedicated to helping every athlete grow in skill, character, and confidence while creating an environment where players can develop a lifelong appreciation for the game of baseball.

 Coach Brent's passion for baseball began as a player and has continued through watching his own children grow in the game. Coaching gives him the opportunity to give back by helping young athletes develop not only their baseball skills but also the confidence, work ethic, and character that extend far beyond the field.

Brent believes the best teams are built on a love for the game. When players enjoy coming to the field, encourage one another, and embrace every opportunity to learn, success naturally follows. Creating a positive, fun environment where every player can grow is at the heart of his coaching philosophy.

His advice to every athlete is simple: be willing to try every position and keep an open mind. You never know where your greatest strengths may be. Continue learning, work hard, support your teammates, and most importantly, enjoy every moment you get to spend playing the game of baseball.

Coach Dan's passion for baseball began at a young age, and he is dedicated to giving today's players the same opportunities, experiences, and lifelong memories that the game gave him. He believes youth baseball is about much more than developing athletic ability—it's about building responsibility, teamwork, and character that will benefit players long after their playing days are over.

As a coach, Dan emphasizes working together toward a common goal while encouraging every athlete to build on their strengths and continuously improve their weaknesses. His favorite part of coaching at Oshkosh North Youth Baseball is helping create a positive community where players can develop confidence, grow as teammates, and become part of something bigger than themselves.

Coach Dan encourages every player to embrace the process of getting better each day, while never losing sight of what makes the game special: work hard, continue improving, and most importantly, have fun.

For Coach Nate, coaching is about being the mentor he wished he had growing up. His experiences inspired him to become a positive role model—not only for his son but for every young athlete who needs encouragement, guidance, and someone who believes in them. Nothing is more rewarding to him than watching players gain confidence and accomplish things they once thought were beyond their reach.

One of Nate's favorite parts of coaching is seeing the growth that happens from season to season. Whether it's a big hit, a key defensive play, or a player achieving a personal milestone, watching their excitement and pride makes every practice and every game worthwhile.

Above all, Coach Nate hopes his players develop a lifelong love for baseball. He wants every athlete to leave ONYB with lasting friendships, unforgettable memories, and the confidence to know they can overcome challenges both on and off the field. His goal is simple: to ensure every player looks back on their ONYB experience with a smile and remembers just how much fun they had playing the game they love.
